Part of the fun of a river trip is telling others what happened. When we embark upon the adventure of encountering Christ, following Christ, growing in Christ and serving Christ, it’s only natural that it’s going to come up in our conversations.
And it will be contagious. Jesus calls us his witnesses. Here are four easy steps to being a witness.
Go. The first step is just to be there. Be with people. Invest in relationships with friends, family members, co-workers and neighbors who don’t have a church.
Listen. Too many times Christ-followers think that being a witness is all about talking. But when we listen first, our words mean more. It shows we genuinely care.
Share. When we’re praying for an opportunity to share about our faith, those opportunities come more frequently. It might be as simple as telling a friend you’ll pray for him or her. It might be sharing about how something has moved you.
Welcome. Extending a warm welcome to others to come to Horizons and its activities flows from our relationship with Christ. And when we love our church, we can’t help but hope that the people we love will join us.
